Down by the sea

they arrive between changing tides

longing for the closeness of friends by their sides

here to celebrate their youth and to play

in the light and the might of this fine autumn day

basking fondly in the sun’s warm glow

they marvel at the universe - such eternal flow!

surrounded again by those they love dearly

they create spaces where dreams are seen clearly

held by the frigid embrace of the ocean

they encounter wave after wave of emotion

feeling alive their radiant smiles all appear

as they are thrust forth into the now and the here

their laughter runs late into the night

in a seemingly endless symphony of dance and delight

and as the stars shimmer in the sky above

they feel true belonging, hearts humming with love

oh what a beautiful thing to behold -

this generosity of spirit that never grows old

this purest of joys from the young and the free

who choose to make magic down by the sea
